Balcony festival 2019: a preview at IAA Architecten
The Balcony Festival is a biennial festival that takes place in Enschede. During this festival, musicians play serenades and aubades from large, small, classic and modern balconies. From tango to pop songs and from opera arias to wind music. Of course with a delightful touch of theatre. The second edition will be held in 2019, but on Sunday 1 July 2018 a brief flavour will be given during a short Balcony Concertroute along five special buildings in the Stadsmaten. On the 'wave balcony' of Villa Menko, where IAA Architecten holds office, the Maschere by Ferenc Farkas will be performed by Sander Bakker (bassoon), Marina Geldof (oboe), Maarten van de Velde (clarinet) and Raoul Dumas (dancer/narrator).
WHERE AND WHAT TIME?
Anyone can join in this free Balcony Concertroute which lasts from 13.00 to 14.35. Registration is not necessary. The start is at the Synagogue at Prinsestraat 14-16 in Enschede.
