New Bettekamp to be constructed
The outdated residential care centre De Bettekamp in Varsseveld is to be demolished. Care organisation Azora will have a completely new complex built on the site of the old building, with 90 flats in three layers, positioned in a green, park-like setting. IAA Architecten has developed the plans together with construction company KlaassenGroep and Wassink Installation.
RESIDENTS MOVE TEMPORARILY
To make way for new construction, the more than eighty residents will have to move and find temporary accommodation at the Kievitstraat in Lichtenvoorde-Zuid, where residents of the newly built Antoniushoeve are now temporarily staying.
Suitable for couples
The flats will be designed to also accommodate couples, namely with a separate living room and bedroom. Each of the ten units will have a communal living room and each floor will have a spacious communal kitchen. Here, residents can - if they so wish - help prepare meals.
